The New London Orchestra was formed in 1988 by Ronald Corp to promote
little known twentieth century music. Since then it has performed
regular concerts of unusual repertoire in London and throughout
the UK, has appeared on several occasions at the BBC Royal Albert
Hall Proms, is broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and has reorded
six discs for Hyperion of music by Milhaud, Satie, Poulenc, Prokofiev,
Virgil Thompson and British light classics. Two more discs are due
for release in 1996.
In 1994 The Royal Philharmonic Society Awards gave the New London
Orchestra a special commendation for its innovative programming
and in February 1996 it was mentioned in the Olivier Awards as the
excellent orchestra accompanying Matthew Bourne's controversial
production of "Swan Lake" which won the Best New Dance Production
