ORCHESTRA OF ST. JOHN'S, SMITH SQUARE

Founded by John Lubbock 29 years ago, the Orchestra of St. John's, Smith Square is one of Great Britain's leading chamber orchestras. It works regularly with international soloists and conductors, appearing throughout the UK at the country's major concert halls and festivals as well as in , St. John's, Smith Square London. The Orchestra also tours internationally to countries as varied as Bulgaria and Romania, Germany, Spain and China.

Under the artistic directorship of John Lubbock, the Orchestra of St. John's, Smith Square has developed a policy of commissioning and performing new music and annually appoints an Associate Composer who participates in major education projects alongside performances of their music including World and UK premieres and at least one new commission.

The Education & Community Outreach Programme is also a major part of the Orchestra's activities and has attracted national recognition for range and quality. The Programme is designed to enhance and complement the Orchestra's concert activities through educational and outreach events in all sections of the community.

The Orchestra varies in size from 16-45 musicians.
